WAYBACK WEDNESDAY POST #4 - THE JOYS OF MOTHERHOOD (Not for the squeamish)

Aaaahhhh...... The joys of Motherhood.  When we take on our role as mother and provider, we find ourselves doing and saying things we never thought we would.  It opens a new world to us of things we thought we would never see.  Such as poop in hair.  I'll explain below....

Years and years ago when my teens were very young, my oldest son had been sick.  Garrett was just getting over a bout of diarrhea.  He was up and running, no fever, with just the occasional  loose bowel movement.

As I was cleaning up the house I could hear Garrett and his little sister Lauren, who were 4 and 2, laughing hysterically.  I thought to myself....... Oh! How cute!!  So I snuck down the hall to peek in at them playing.  They were not in Garrett's room.  I peeked into Lauren's room.  Nope. Not there either.

My eyes fell on the bathroom door, as giggles once again erupted.  Warning bells began to go off in my head.  I was in no way prepared for the sight that met me when I opened that door.

Garrett was straddling the pot, his underwear around his ankles.  Lauren was standing next to him, her little plastic tea pitcher in hand, dipping it into the potty then pouring the poopoo water over Garrett's head.

I gasped in shock, sucking all the air in the bathroom into my lungs apparently, because Garrett and Lauren both stopped breathing, staring at me like a deer caught in the headlights.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!!"

I raced them both down the hall to my bathroom and placed them in the tub.  All that was going through my mind..... besides "ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh!" was all the diseases that could be soaking into their skin right now from playing in dirty nasty poop infested water!

I scrubbed and scrubbed their little bodies, and their hair, drained the tub, and did it again.

I was still SO furious! I called my mom to vent before I resorted to spanking, and tried telling her what had happened.

I couldn't even get the words out.  Not because it was too horrible to speak of, although at the time it was, but because as I began telling the tale........ I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get it out.

  2. Thanks for visiting :-)

The humor of the situation suddenly struck me when I was trying to tell my mom that my daughter poured poop water on my son's head. When I started talking I was still mad, but suddenly I was giggling, then laughing, wheezing, and gasping, trying to get the words out, and she had no idea why I was laughing.
